Horizon Construction, Inc. was asked to inspect and make recommendations on the carport and garage of a home located in San Antonio, Texas.
The existing roof systems were a 3 tab shingle and a 90 lb. roll roofing, which are very common entry level roof systems. Signs of hail damage and product failure were found. The carport and garage both showed signs of rotten decking from roof leaks.
Our recommendation was to repair the posts and beams, and to replace the rotten decking as needed. We proposed to replace the low sloped carport roof area with an SBS Modified System, and replace the garage roof with a High Definition Shingle to add a distinctive look.
